Editions and licensing
Qanvas comes in two editions. Both include every feature; they differ only in how many projects you can edit.
| Community | Lifetime | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free forever | One-time licence per developer |
| Editable projects | One | Unlimited |
| Every feature, export and AI provider | Yes | Yes |
See Pricing for the current Lifetime price.
Checking your edition
The icon beside the Qanvas logo in the header shows your edition: an upgrade icon on Community, a verified check on Lifetime. Select the logo to open the licence window. You can also open it from Settings → License → Manage License & Machine Registration.
Activating Lifetime
- Buy a Lifetime licence from the Pricing page or the Get Lifetime License link in the licence window. Your licence token arrives by email after purchase.
- Select the Qanvas logo to open the licence window.
- Paste the token into the License token field. Tokens start with
qnv_. - Select Activate key.
Qanvas confirms that Lifetime is active and unlimited projects are unlocked. The licence is verified on your machine, so Qanvas keeps working offline.
If activation fails, the window explains why. Copy the token again exactly as it appears in your email, or contact support with your receipt.
Managing an active licence
When Lifetime is active, the licence window shows your Active credential:
- Copy token to back it up or to activate another of your machines.
- Deactivate frees this machine's seat and returns it to Community. Copy your token first, because you need it to reactivate. Qanvas asks you to confirm; select Keep Lifetime to cancel.
Community with more than one project
Community edits one project at a time. If you have several projects, for example after deactivating Lifetime, nothing is deleted:
- Every project stays on your machine and can still be opened and exported.
- You choose one editable project. The others are read-only.
- In the project switcher, each project is labelled (editable) or (read-only).
Read-only projects
In a read-only project you can browse, preview, read the code, chat and export, but you cannot change or save it. A Read-only badge appears beside the project switcher. Select it to open the licence window, where you can make the open project your editable one.
Changing your editable project
You can change your choice for 36 hours after you first make it. The badge shows the time left. After that the choice is final until you activate a Lifetime licence on that machine. Deleting your editable project lets you choose again.
New projects
On Community, New project... opens the licence window once you have reached your project limit.
